Fareham mum-of-three to undergo head shave for charity

A MUM-OF-THREE is set to shave her head in aid of a cancer charity.

Chris Raven, 55, from Minster Close, Fareham is to face the clippers at the Chris Cage Hair Salon tomorrow to support Macmillan Cancer nurses.

Chris, who currently has short and cropped hair, said she decided to do the event because she likes doing things that scare her.

She said: ‘I was looking for something to do in order to fundraise and I thought it’s a little bit out there and it is a little different, so why not?

‘I liked that it’s an unusual idea as well.

‘It is mostly young people who do head shaves as it is less common for older women to shave their heads.’

Chris says that she decided to pick Macmillan nurses due to the experiences of some of her friends.

She has raised £665 for the charity so far and is targeting an overall total of £735.

Chris’ shave will get under way in the salon tomorrow from 1pm.
