CHILDREN gave huge cheers as a new outdoor classroom at a special needs school was officially opened.

The Nest, a £250,000 new building in the grounds of Heathfield Special School in Oldbury Way, Fareham was finally unveiled to pupils and parents in a ceremony yesterday.

Pupils will use the classroom, which includes a computer and a widescreen television, to learn all about nature.

Fareham MP Suella Fernandes said: ‘The classroom looks very state-of-the-art and will only enhance the great learning environment at Heathfield.’

Bailey John, 10, from Titchfield said: ‘I love the new building. I can’t wait to use it for the first time.’
