FIREFIGHTERS had to cut a woman out of her car after it flipped on to its roof.

The accident happened in Titchfield Road, Stubbington, just after 9pm last night after a car collided with a lamp post at the junction with Anzac Close.

Officers from Fareham and Gosport fire stations were sent to the scene, where the woman was trapped in her car.

The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was rescued from her car, a silver people carrier, via the back after firefighters removed the seats.

She was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

Police closed the road. The road was reopened by 10pm.
