A FUNDRAISER was hailed as a vibrant success – despite bad weather threatening to ruin it.
Portchester Traders held a fundraiser and activity day on Saturday to raise cash for a life-saving defibrillator.
The event, on Saturday, saw dozens of families come along and enjoy craft stalls, music, bands and classic cars.
Portchester East ward councillor Shaun Cunningham said: ‘It went extremely well.
‘The weather was disappointing but it was really good throughout.
‘A lot of people turned and enjoyed themselves.
‘They were actually asking for more to be organised up there.
‘It made the precinct quite vibrant.’
Firefighters and police also attended the day.
Funfair rides, face painting and games kept youngsters busy throughout.
