POLICE have asked people not to give money to a suspicious woman.

Officers have received reports of a number of occasions where a woman has approached customers in the car park of Asda in Newgate Lane, Park Gate.

According to the police, the woman normally states that she has no money to get home and may ask to borrow people’s phones to call someone.

She is also known to have stood in front of vehicles, making them stop to gain the attention of the driver.

Police are asking that no money is given to the woman, as her requests are false and to report any similar incidents to the ones described above to officers by calling 101 or 999 in an emergency.
