The 1st Titchfield Sea Scout Beavers have cleaned up Meon Shore Beach through wind and rain in an attempt to keep our environment healthy.

The beach, located near Fareham, was swept clean as 15 beavers, aged 6-8 years, and four team leaders walked its length with litter pickers, gloves and bin bags.

Group scout leader, Tracey Williams, highlighted just how dedicated the beavers are.

‘The weather was horrible. It was grey, wet, cold and rainy and they just did it with big smiles and happy faces,’ she said.

‘It just is a really good thing to do for the community. Rain, wind, shine, we’d have been there doing it because it needs doing.’

Filling around 12 half bin bags, one resident was so impressed that she came out of her chalet with sweets for the beavers.

Next month the Titchfield scouts will once again clean up the beach, with 24 cubs attending the meet-up.
