A ROAD in Titchfield was shut for two hours today after a car slammed into an electricity pylon.

The vehicle collided with the pole in Posbrook Lane at 1pm, knocking it down into the highway.

Firefighters from Fareham were called to the scene and closed the road in both directions.

No-one was injured in the crash. Southern Electric was called and isolated the power to the area.
