Bus users are set to benefit from the service between Fareham bus station and Whiteley Shopping Centre which will leave the station hourly from 7.40am up until 10.40pm.

The W1 service from First Bus follows the opening of the extension to the shopping centre in Whiteley which featured a Cineworld cinema and six new restaurants.

Neil Carter, centre manager for Whiteley Shopping Centre said: ‘We have been working on this initiative with First Bus for several months and I am very excited that the new service is now a reality.

‘The shuttle will help customers and workers alike to significantly reduce travel time between the two destinations.’

A return service from Whiteley will go each hour between 8.10am and 11.10pm.

Mr Carter added that a Sunday or bank holiday service could be brought in if the shuttle is successful.
