SOUTHERN Railway has offered to hold fresh talks with a union to avert another strike if it suspends industrial action.

The rail operator suggested meeting the RMT union on April 4 - the date set for its next strike.

Charles Horton, Southern’s chief executive said talks would go ahead if strike action is called off and the union’s executive committee is not considering the plans.
