She said: ‘I started my blog to document my year abroad and became addicted to writing and sharing my travel experiences.

‘What started out as a way of letting my family and friends know what was going on, turned into a realisation that writing and more importantly travel writing was what I wanted as a career.

‘Being a finalist in the UK Blog Awards is everything to me, as it’s the reassurance that my photography and writing is capturing people’s attention.

‘It gives me the confidence to continue working towards my goal of becoming both a writer and photographer professionally.’

The UK Blog Awards is now in its fourth year, and celebrates the best creative writers, photographers and vloggers across 17 different categories.

Gemma Newton, director of the UK Blog Awards, said: ‘The rise of social media channels has changed the way online content is perceived and the world of blogging and vlogging has never been so creative or influential.

‘With 2,400 entries, and over 96,000 votes cast the finalists have done extremely well to get to this stage, and we look forward to recognising their hard work at our awards night.’

Panels of experts in each category sector will judge all shortlisted entries and Jamie will find out if she has been crowned the winner at the awards event in London on April 21.
