Charities receiving funding delights Gosport MP

AN MP has welcomed news that organisations in her constituency have received funding.

Fourteen organisations in Gosport have been successful after applying for money from Hampshire and Isle Of Wight police and crime commissioner Michael Lane, leaving the town’s MP Caroline Dinenage delighted.

Collectively, they will be awarded £326,305. The money will be used to fund projects that prevent offending, support victims and help individuals to realise their potential.

Gosport Community Safety Partnership received more than £28,000, which includes £7,830 to continue its annual Summer Passport scheme.

Youth charity Motiv8 will receive £17,655 to produce a programme aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour.

Ms Dinenage said: ‘I am pleased that so many organisations are working across Gosport to improve the community for everyone, and in such innovative ways. I have no doubt that the funding awarded will make a big difference to local people’s lives.’
