Charity event will get people dancing for The Rowans Hospice

KEEN dancers will be throwing some shapes for six hours in a bid to raise money.

The annual dance-a-thon for The Rowans Hospice is taking place this month and organisers hope to draw hundreds of people to the event.

Starting at 6pm and finishing at midnight, six different dance styles will be taught during the evening, each led by an expert instructor. Dance styles include disco, Charleston, street, Broadway, zumba and ‘The Strictly’.

Anyone over the age of 16 years old can come along to the charity fundraiser, which has been going for four years.

Kerry Chambers, who took part last year, said: ‘It is a fabulous and fun event; I had a great evening. I loved learning all of the different routines and raised £150 for The Rowans Hospice in memory of my amazing grandad John Horn.’

The event is at Portsmouth Guildhall on Saturday, February 20.

Participants can register in advance for £10 or £20 on the night. They are asked to try to raise a target of £100 in sponsorship.
