The video, which was shown to students during an assembly on Monday, has since been shared thousands of times and, as of last night, had been viewed by more than 193,000 people on Facebook.

Dean Searley, the school’s head of Year 11, came up with the idea for the video.

He said: ‘We had no idea it was going to get as big as it has got. We just liked the song, had seen other montages on social media ourselves and thought ‘‘why not give it a go?’’

‘We picked the song as it’s a chart hit and is super-catchy.

‘It’s been great as we’ve had lots of good feedback from our current and old pupils.’
