FALLING rates of unemployment have been welcomed by the Havant MP.

The latest Labour Market Statistics were released by the Office for National Statistics earlier this week.

They showed that 995 people in Havant claimed JobSeeker’s Allowance – a 10 per cent drop from last year.

Alan Mak said: ‘These job figures are great news for Havant. The number of local people claiming job seekers allowance has fallen by 50 per cent since 2010, and our local economy is strong. With the regeneration of Dunsbury Hill Farm and Market Parade, even more jobs are on their way.’
