Chief executive Sally Hopson, said: ‘The Hayling Island Vets4Pets practice marks another significant step in the journey of the Pets at Home Vet Group.

‘We’re all delighted to welcome veterinary surgeon Daniele Saita and his team to be the 400th surgery in the group that has opened using the joint venture partnership model

‘It’s almost two years to the day since we opened the 300th practice in nearby Eastleigh and we find ourselves reaching another level in our quest of more than 700 practices in the UK, both in Pets at Home stores and standalone locations.

‘Wherever we have opened, pet owners have responded enthusiastically to our state-of-the-art practices and convenient opening hours.

‘The joint venture model we operate across all practices provides the support vets and vet nurses need to run their businesses.

‘It allows them to focus on what they really love, looking after the health of animals, while the support team helps with other areas including marketing, HR and business strategy.’

Daniele qualified as a vet at Milan Vet University in his native Italy in 2001, before making the decision to move to the UK seven years later.

He has a special interest in orthopaedic surgery, has worked for the RSPCA and a number of veterinary practices.
