Music bridged three generations at a concert at St Faith’s Hall, Havant.
There were performances by hosts Solent Male Voice Choir, Bosmere Junior School and Canon Tom Kennar, the parish rector.
Members of Solent Male Voice Choir opened another season since its formation 55 years ago.
Musical director Howard Wilkie, assisted by Geoff Porter, selected hits from its wide repertoire.
These included showstoppers from Les Miserables and Chess, and a version of Kalinka, featuring star tenor Ray Gaskell.
The accompanist was Eric Lee.
The young Bosmere contingent sang with the vitality and zestful musicality that won them silverware at Portsmouth Music Festival recently.
Finally, Mr Kennar sang with a combination of power and beautifully judged phrasing, which attracted much acclaim.
The deputy mayor of Havant Faith Ponsonby was among the guests at the concert.
