POLICE are hunting for two good Samaritans who attempted to stop a woman from being attacked in Portsmouth last night.

The assault took place in the city centre. between 11.30pm and midnight.

A 24-year-old victim was alledgedly assaulted by a 23-year-old man, who is known to her, in Commercial Road, Lake Road and April Square, police have said.

Officers are now looking to trace two men who tried to help the victim outside Pure Gym, in Arundel Street.

Witnesses or those with information about the incident are being urged to call Hampshire Constabulary on 101 quoting 44170098102.

A spokesman for the force told The News that so far, nobody has been arrested in connection with the incident.
