A BOY has been arrested after 40 cars – many of them taxis – had their windows smashed in Portsmouth.

Hampshire police said a 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.

It comes after officers were investigating a series of incidents in the city.

A spokeswoman said: ‘A total of 40 reports have made to police, including incidents of theft from motor vehicle and criminal damage.

‘Many of the vehicles were taxis.’

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting Op Geranium.
