A young daredevil photographer scaled a crane more than 100m high to capture these amazing shots of Portsmouth and Southsea by night.

Jordan Bareham, a freelance photographer, combined his passion for thrill-seeking with his love of taking pictures by climbing the crane.

It was on the site of the new halls of residence, being built by the University of Portsmouth, next to Portsmouth & Southsea railway station.

Jordan, who lives in Bedhampton, is an experienced climber and warned others not to follow in his footsteps.

The 19-year-old, said: ‘It was an incredible experience but not one that just anyone should try.

It was quite a surreal feeling to be up that high. The city looked amazing.

‘I used to do a lot of parkour and free running when I was younger but I found I preferred exploring places that other people had not been to before.

‘With the crane, I knew that the only other person to have seen that view of Portsmouth from there was the person operating it.

‘I scaled from the bottom, climbed up and carried on going until I reached the top.

‘I wasn’t scared, I was totally comfortable with it.

‘It was quite a surreal feeling to be up that high. The city looked amazing.

‘In the end I went up quite a few times.’

Jordan has also climbed the Lloyds building in London and the former Zurich building in Edinburgh Road, Landport.

He said: ‘It is not technically trespassing because I never break in.

‘I only ever go through an open window or door.

‘You must be experienced to even think about doing something like that.’

Jordan used a Canon 60 DSLR camera to take the amazing photos.
