Police launch knife amnesty in Portsmouth after spike in drug-related knife crime

A MAN has been charged with attempted murder by police investigating a serious assault on a 17-year-old girl in Portsmouth.

The incident happened in Shearer Road, Portsmouth, on April 11.

James Hemming, 28, of Cross Street, Portsmouth, has been charged with attempted murder.

He has been remanded in custody was due to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court today.
