Eldon Arms receiving a big upgrade

THE landlady of The Eldon Arms is looking to completely revitalise the venue.

Ei Group has made a sizable investment into the Southsea pub, in the hope of attracting many more customers through the doors.

The renovation project includes improvements to the toilets, kitchen and a complete redecoration.

Landlady Sam Piper said: ‘I think this speaks volumes on Ei’s behalf, as it shows they have no desire to close the pub down.

‘The work started about a week ago, and should be finished in three weeks‘ time.

‘We are having brand new toilets fitted, as well as a refurbishment to the kitchen, so that we can start serving some great food for our visitors.

‘Currently, we probably have eight to 10 builders in each day.’

The interior redecoration will also help make the pub a brighter place.

Sam explained: ‘We’ve gone for magnolia on the walls and white on the ceiling – it just helps to brighten the room up and make the place feel more welcoming. There’s also green on the woodwork to match with the outside.’

A grand reopening will be taking place once the refit is completed.

n In The News on Monday an article said that The Eldon Arms was closed. This is incorrect and we would like to apologise for the error.
