FAMILY of missing man Jason Gates have made an emotional appeal for him to make contact three weeks after his disappearance.

Mr Gates, 36, of Bedhampton, is missing from Drumnadrochit area in the Scottish Highlands.

His family’s statement issued by the Highland and Islands police division of Police Scotland said: ‘As a family, we’re very grateful to members of the emergency services and search and rescue personnel who continue the search for Jason.

‘We’d like to thank members of the local community for their assistance and to everyone who has shared the appeal via social media. It’s been over three weeks since we’ve heard from Jason and we are increasingly anxious.

‘We’d also like to appeal to Jason directly: if you can see this message, please make contact so we know you’re ok. We just want you to be safe and to be reunited as a family.

‘As the search continues, we remain hopeful Jason will be found and reiterate our thanks to everyone involved in the search.’

It’s been over three weeks since we’ve heard from Jason and we are increasingly anxious.

Mr Gates’ spaniel Max was found by police.

The pet’s microchip led police to Mr Gates but his car was found abandoned – sparking the major search.

He was reported missing on March 17 but was last seen on March 14. Now police are appealing to people who may be taking part in outdoor activities to keep an eye out.

Inspector Ian Graham said: ‘It’s been over three weeks since Jason was seen and it goes without saying we are very concerned for his welfare.
