BEING diagnosed with a brain condition was the tipping point for a mum who was seriously overweight.

Tor Mansfield, 28, suffered with severe headaches, tiredness and had to endure lumber punctures to control the pain she was in because of the condition.

Doctors explained to the mum-of-three, that one of the contributing factors was her weight.

The 28-year-old, from Gosport, decided it was time to do something about it and joined her local Slimming World group.

Tor, a learning support assistant, lost an amazing four stones.

Her achievement, and the subsequent improvement in her health, inspired her to become a consultant for Slimming World.

She said: ‘I’d gained so much weight and, once I weighed myself, I vowed I’d never see those dreadful numbers on the scales again. Joining Slimming World was the best decision I have ever made.

‘As well as having more energy and a boost in self-confidence, I’m now in remission, which doctors say is due to my tremendous weight loss.’

Tor says she cooks meals that are enjoyable for both her and the rest of her family.

She said: ‘I never thought eating cooked breakfasts, roast dinners and more family favourites could contribute to my weight loss.’

Tor’s group starts on Monday, April 17, at St Francis Church, Northern Parade, Hilsea at 9.30am and 11.30am. Go to slimmingworld.co.uk.
