A NEW group will represent the interests of people using a green space and play area.

The Friends of St James’ Green, made up of Milton residents, will work together to maximise the community’s use of the open space.

A range of different groups use the area including families and dog walkers all of which have different needs and priorities. The council has helped to form the new group which will hold its first committee meeting next month.

Cllr Linda Symes, the council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure and sport, said: ‘It is wonderful to see members of the community come together in this way.’
