THE body of a man who was reported missing to the police has been found.

Brian Richardson, of Seagrove Road, Portsmouth, was last seen at 6.00pm on Saturday near his home.

Mr Richardson, 78, was reported missing to police, as well as his Renault Megane.

Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed a body in a car was found in Claybank Road, off Burrfields Road, this morning.

Mr Richardson’s family have been informed.

A spokeswoman for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘Police searching for missing Portsmouth man Brian Richardson have this morning found a body in a car in Claybank Road.

‘Although the body has not yet been formally identified, Brian’s family has been informed.

‘We are preparing a file for the coroner.

‘Thank you all who helped by sharing this appeal.’
