SOLIDARITY with victims of the attack in Westminster has been shown at Portsmouth Guildhall tonight.

Bosses at the Guildhall bathed the building in white, red and blue light this evening.

It comes after five people, including a police officer and a 75-year-old man, have been confirmed dead in the horror attack in London on Wednesday.

A Guildhall spokeswoman said: 'On reflection of yesterday’s attack in Westminster and in memory of those that lost their lives, we will tonight be lighting Portsmouth Guildhall in red, white and blue. #WeStandTogether'

Security has been increased at Portsmouth Naval Base but not in response to a specific threat, a naval spokeswoman said.

Hampshire police has warned people to be alert but not alarmed.
