A MUSEUM in Portsmouth has been shortlisted as one of the nation’s top attractions.
The Mary Rose Museum has been named as one of the finalists in the Awards for Tourism Excellence 2017.
It is one of nine others from across the region to be shortlisted, and is now in the running for the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year award.
The site, which was re-opened last year after a major £5.4m facelift, is up four others in the battle to be named 2017 category champion.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on April 24, at the Hilton Waldorf in London.
The national awards, now in their 28th year, recognise and celebrate the very best tourism businesses and experiences in the country.
