A PORTSMOUTH community radio station has added one of the world’s most famous rock and roll DJs to the airwaves of the city.

Non-profit station Unforgettable Radio has now announced that it will be broadcasting The Wolfman Jack Show in the UK and will broadcast the shows every Saturday at 8pm.

Wolfman Jack, otherwise known as Rober Smith was born on January 21, 1938 in Brooklyn. Releasing albums in 1972 and 1973, his work for radio stations gave him a reputation as one of the best rock and roll DJs.

Now, Unforgettable Radio has joined forces with production company Blue Revolution to broadcast ‘The Wolfman Jack Show’ to Portsmouth listeners.

Duncan Barkes, creator of the digital station, said: ‘The opportunity to add Wolfman Jack to our output was too good to miss. We wanted to spice up our Saturday night schedule and he ticks all the boxes, as well as playing some good-time rock and roll.’
