Southsea Marina is hosting a fishing show next month.

The event, which proved a huge success last year, will see a large array of contributors come together to showcase their services and fishing products on Saturday, April 30.

Sea school Portsmouth Marine Training will be present, as will Portsmouth bait supplier Andy’s Bait, angling centre Allan’s Marine and Solent Tackle.

There will also be a live cooking demonstration from Joe Baker, head chef at the Rick Stein seafood restaurant in Winchester.

Local sea anglers Dan Sissons and Dick Stubbs will be holding a talk around the new rules and regulations surrounding sea bass angling.

Southsea Marina manager Rubert Bremer said: ‘The marina sits on the threshold of the Solent and attracts yachts, fishing boats and motorboats alike.

‘This show will not only be of interest to the growing and active fishing community, but there will be something of interest to all kinds of boaters as we will be holding a free flares disposal service on the day.’

There will also be a life-jacket check clinic run by the RNLI, as well as a series of presentations from a team of sea angling experts located in the dedicated Q&A marquee.

The event will run from 10am to 4pm. Admission to the show is free, with parking being available on a first-come-first-served basis.
