POLICE are appealing for information after two assaults in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A 28-year-old man was treated for a serious cut to the head outside the Esso petrol station in Milton Road, Southsea.

Police believed the injury was sustained after two groups were fighting in the area at 1.30am.

Following this, in an unconnected incident, a 34-year-old man was treated for cuts to the head outside Effe’s Kebabs in Fratton Road, Fratton at 2.30am.

Police believe the injury came after two men were involved in a dispute.
