FAMILIES were left thrilled at Portsmouth’s annual fireworks display this evening.
An array of glistening colours lit the skyline during a jaw-dropping 20-minute display that was put on by Nemisis Pyrotechnics.
Thousands of people from across the region flocked to King George V Playing Fields at Cosham to be dazzled by various different fireworks at the free event, which had a pirate theme this year.
Bob Britton, from Hill Head, was among those who praised the show organised by Portsmouth City Council. He said: ‘It’s a really good event - we come every year.
‘There’s plenty of entertainment for the kids.’
Susannah Norton and Andy Runham, from Cosham, went to the event with Annabelle and Melody Runham-Norton and Winter Isabelle Corcoran Runham.
Susannah said: ‘We’ve got really good weather for it.
‘Everyone you speak to in the day say they’re going. It’s great they have a missing child tent set up.’
