A touch of Hollywood wizardry was brought into the classroom when a blue screen allowed children to play out their mini movies in front of different backdrops.
Chiildren at St Jude's Catholic Primary School in Fareham acted out their scripts in front of the screen while being filmed.
The films were then edited by Fareham College students who removed the blue screen with computer software and replaced with vistas like those seen on the moon or in Africa.
The blue screen was taken to the school by Chris Pim, who works at Hampshire County Council as a consultant to help children who have English as an additional language.
Mr Pim said: 'The children were very enthusiastic and enjoyed the work. The scriptwriting helps with literacy and they benefit from the collaborative work of working in groups, talking through their ideas and refining their scripts.'
The blue screen will next be taken for pupils at Oak Meadow CofE Primary School in Fareham to try out.
