Pompey star Linvoy Primus is leading the charge as we prepare to raise thousands more for charity by turning the city blue for a second time.
Today we launch Blue2Day – the follow-up to our amazing Blue Day which raised £50,000 for the Tom Prince Cancer Trust.
We plan to kick off the campaign in style with a Big Blue Picnic on Southsea Common on Saturday May 10, exactly a week before the final.
That will mark the start of a Blue Week which will see events take place across the city to warm up for our mammoth fund-raiser.
The main event will be Blue2Day itself which will take part on Friday, May 16 – the day before the Cup Final.
Just like we did for the semi-final we'll be asking readers to dress in blue and hold fund-raising events to raise money and to celebrate Pompey's incredible cup run.
With the help of generous readers we are sure we can raise even more money this time and turn Portsmouth and the surrounding areas into an even bigger sea of blue.
Backing Blue2Day as Pompey trained yesterday afternoon, Linvoy Primus said: 'Blue2Day is for the Tom Prince Cancer Trust and to help to raise money for cancer research – so please help out.
'It's time for everyone to join in together. It's for the community, it's for the city and it's to help people be cured of this disease. Let's do it!'
Tom Prince's father Clinton said: 'The first Blue Day was a screaming success and we've had so many people ask us how we will beat it.
'The past few weeks have been very tiring counting pennies every night but it's been a great way to be busy. We're looking forward to the events that are coming up and still can't believe how supportive everyone has been.
'It's just been fantastic. We're delighted that it's going to be happening all over again and we can't wait for Blue2Day.'
