Schoolchildren helped raise more than £100 for youngsters affected by the Boxing Day tsunami.
The pupils took part in two fund-raisers at the Oak Meadow Centre in Fareham, and even dipped into their own pocket money to help.

The children have been raising money for The Shilpa Children's Home ever since the disaster in 2004. The home in Sri Lanka looks after and teaches youngsters orphaned by the tsunami or those whose parents now have to work miles away.

Jo Little, the deputy supervisor at the Oak Meadow Nursery, said: 'Both events went really well, and it was so nice to see the children donating their own money.

'They've been writing to the children in Sri Lanka ever since the disaster, and so have come to understand why we are fund-raising for them. They've formed a real bond with the children out there and so are incredibly keen to continue helping them any way they can.'

The fund-raising highlight was the cakes which the children made themselves.
