Top chef Graham Squire is set to appear on national television after taking part in hit cookery show Ready Steady Cook.
Mr Squire, a sauce specialist with posh London hotel Claridges, will be special guest on the hit daytime TV show

The 22-year-old will be seen rubbing shoulders with charismatic host Ainsley Harriott and celebrity chefs James Tanner and Nick Nairn.

He appears alongside Claridges' colleague Will Torrent speaking about their entrance in an international cookery competition.

Mr Squire, who lived in Elson, Gosport, before moving to London seven years ago, said: 'Ainsley Harriott is quite a flamboyant character. He was very nice and good fun. We weren't on for very long.

'We were given a bag of ingredients which we then gave to the chefs while we were being filmed.

'We gave our bag to James Tanner and he did baked Alaska.'

Mr Squire said he and his colleague were quizzed about their experiences in November at WorldSkills – an international competition in which 51 nations vie for the top place in different categories.

These included engineering, landscape gardening, graphic design, hairdressing, beauty therapy and Mr Squire's speciality cooking.

He said his team came 11th in the cookery section out of 32 countries.

Mr Squire, whose parents Amanda Postin and Nick Squire still live in Portsmouth and Gosport, said: 'It was quite an experience.

'You get tested on all sorts of aspects of cooking that you don't usually get tested on.'

But Ready Steady Cook is not the only time Mr Squire's talents has led to TV appearances.

He said: 'I've appeared on Teachers TV a couple of times when they came to the restaurant.'

Mr Squire added that he also appeared on another TV programme about WorldSkills.

To see him in action, tune into BBC Two on May 9 at 4.30pm.
