A new club has been set up to teach Portsmouth residents the extreme sport of free running.
Portsmouth Parkour meets every Saturday morning in Southsea where members swap techniques.

The free club was set up on the internet social networking website Facebook by Hilsea man Matt Cordy.

Mr Cordy, 32, who has been free running since he was 20, said: 'We're a new group so at the moment we're just starting out on the basic skills – how to fall, and how to roll.

'Free running is getting a bit of a name for itself now and more people are doing it. But if you are going to do it, it needs to be done safely.'

Portsmouth Parkour meets at 11am on Saturdays at Wimbledon Park.

Anyone wanting to join can simply turn up or join the group ParkourPortsmouth on Facebook.

Parkour or free running is an activity with the aim of moving from one point to another as efficiently and quickly as possible.

It is meant to help people overcome obstacles such as branches, rocks, rails or concrete walls.
