A Hill Head woman has received her OBE from Prince Charles for services to the Royal Navy.
Kim Richardson has been recognised for her efforts for setting up the Naval Families Federation (NFF).

The 48-year-old has been chairwoman of the NFF since she set it up in 2003.

Before then, the Royal Navy was the only one of the armed forces without any representation, with The Army Families Federation having been in place for 25 years and the RAF also having representation.

As part of her role she represents family issues at ministerial meetings in the MoD.

Kim's husband, Mike, was a logistics officer in the navy and later became fleet caterer.

The ceremony took place at Buckingham Palace yesterday.
