Strutting out, a glance at the crowd, a twirl and a flick of the hair... but this wasn't Paris or Milan – this was fashion Leigh Park-style.
With the help of bright lights, a hairstylist, and even a choreographer, these youngsters created their very own catwalk show at Park Community School on Friday.
Organised by community group Pride of Place, with the help of fashion gurus from New Look in Graywell, Leigh Park, these flamboyant frocks and modish hairstyles brought a touch of glamour to the end of the Easter break, specially geared towards nine to 13-year-olds.
Anna Micklefield, 27, a Havant-based police community support officer and Pride of Place project manager, said: 'Our reasoning was to try and get people of these ages involved in these kind of activities, because we felt they were left out of a lot of things in the area.
'They're in their last two years of primary school and first two of college, and we just really want to get them involved with the community and give them something to do during the holidays.
'Because a lot of girls of this age often dress much older then they actually are, we wanted to show you can dress sensibly and stay really trendy, without low-cut tops or high heels.'
The event ran from 2.30pm to 4pm, and Anna said it had gone down a treat will all 18 girls who took part.
'It was hard work, but it was worth it.
'It was brilliant, they absolutely loved it. Their reaction was fantastic, and it was a great end to the Easter break.'
