SCHOOLCHILDREN have been celebrating the art of sign language.
Pupils from Penhale Infants School in Portsmouth took part in a signing performance as part of national sign language week.

Some pupils who attend the special hearing-impaired unit at the school and learn about sign language, helped other students to learn how to count to 10, how to spell their name and to sign what their favourite food is.

Kyla Richards, communicator for the Sensory Impairment Service, said: 'It's about raising awareness of sign language. The children loved it, they all embrace sign language. We asked the parents and the children to join in.'
