Witches, wizards and devils are not your usual guests at a wedding.
But that was exactly what greeted Trevor Blowfield and Sheena Young when they got married.

The couple, who met two years ago, decided that they didn't want to follow the traditional wedding route.

So they decided to get married on Halloween – dressed head-to-toe in fancy dress outfits.

Around 40 guests turned up at Portsmouth Register Office on Saturday afternoon to celebrate their marriage – and they were all following the trend by dressing up and celebrating Halloween in style.

Sheena, 22, from Leominster Road, Paulsgrove, made her wedding dress herself.

She bought a second hand dress and then went shopping in Fabric Land to buy material to sew on to it.

'We aren't a traditional couple,' she told The News.

'It's different. I don't like traditional. We decided to do something that was more us.

'Everybody that has come has dressed up. Everybody looks brilliant.

'Since we have been living together we have celebrated Halloween.'

Meanwhile, groom Trevor, 40, dressed up as a joker, which he felt reflected his personality.

'People think I'm a joker all the time,' he said.

'I have been married before so we decided that this time, it had to be different.'

Trevor's sister Shirley Honess, 39, from Bedhampton, added: 'I think it's great fun. I thought "what a good idea".

'I wasn't going to dress up but then I thought I would go with the flow.

'It's a day we aren't going to forget.'

Trevor's mum, Valerie Blowfield, 66, added: 'It's nice and it's what they wanted so I went along with it.'

The couple have two children together – Hayden, one, and Jasper, three months old. Trevor also has two children from a previous marriage – Stacey, 15, and Connor, 14.

They held their wedding reception at Cosham Trade Club.
