An MP was stunned after seeing at first hand how a charity had spent thousands of pounds of lottery cash.
Fareham MP Mark Hoban took time out to visit the new Play Away garden at the Rainbow Centre, which cares for children with cerebral palsy.
Last year it won almost £50,000 of funding from the People's Millions contest in a televised public vote.
The cash went towards paying for an activities- packed garden, which cost around £120,000 altogether.
And the centre won a further £10,000 for its Breathing Spaces garden which is set to be opened later this month.
Mr Hoban, whose wife Fiona is a patron of the centre, said: 'It's always a good trip to see the Rainbow Centre. I think the way they have designed it to meet the needs of the children is very impressive.'
Mr Hoban, who was on a tour of lottery-funded projects in his constituency, also visited Fareham Borough Council to talk about how it is going to spend the £200,000 to improve play opportunities for young people. He also went to High Slopes Community Centre in Paulsgrove, Portsmouth, which was given cash for a new manager.
Helen Somerset How, co-founder of the Rainbow Centre, said: 'Mark wanted to see how the lottery projects in his region were getting on and, of course, we're one of those.
'He was very impressed with what we showed him, and we were delighted to welcome him here.
'He walked out into the garden and just said "wow".'
