Volleyball comes to Gunwharf

Gunwharf Quays will play host to volleyball fans next month when a tournament is held there.
The Dodge Urban Beach Volleyball tournament will take place from August 8 to August 10.

Beach volleyball is a fast growing Olympic sport, and 200 tons of sand will be brought in to create the court in the middle of Gunwharf Quays.

Players such as Sam Boehm, Christopher McHugh and Becchara Palmer will make an appearance.

Children will get a chance to showcase their skills when under-16s receive coaching from volleyball champion Denise Austin and beach volleyballs commission president Mark Kontopoulos.
