Pop siblings Same Difference are preparing to release their first single nearly a year after they shot to fame on primetime TV.
Brother and sister Sean and Sarah Smith, from Widley, became overnight stars on the X Factor last year after making it to the final of the talent show.

And now, after a year of touring, travelling the world and performing across the country, the pair are back with their first single and an album.

'It's a really poppy album, we are trying to bring back the whole pop music scene,' said Sarah, 19.

'The new single is really fun and bubbly. It's quite different to what people expect from us. It's a lot more serious.

'It's going to be so wonderful to see it in the shops. It's going to be mad, but we can't wait.'

Sean, 22, added: 'It's been our dream since being children and now it's finally coming true. It's thanks to the X Factor and Simon Cowell.'

The pair have been on tour with the X Factor and also spent some time in Sweden where they recorded the album.

More recently they have been performing at universities during freshers week, and taking part in photo shoots across the country, in preparation for the release of their first single. They are preparing to go to LA to film the video for the news single, called We Are One.

'We want all of Portsmouth to really get together and go out and buy the single,' said Sarah.

'The people of Portsmouth have always been behind us. We hope that support continues throughout our career. We hope to put Portsmouth on the map.

'We still live in Portsmouth but we are never at home – we live out of a suitcase. But when we do go home it's really lovely to see the family – it keeps us grounded.' The single is released on November 10 and the album titled Pop will come out on November 17.

The album features two cover tracks that they performed on the X Factor.
