A FLAG-MAKING company proved it was a leading light in the business world at The News's awards ceremony.
The boss of Hampshire Flag Company in Penner Road, Havant, stole last night's Business Excellence Awards at Portsmouth Guildhall by walking off with two awards.
Graham Wilkinson, 32, picked up the Small Business of the Year Award and the Achiever of the Year award.
During the ceremony a Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Spinnaker Tower designer Hedley Greentree for a vision that has helped in the regeneration of the city.
More than 500 leaders from the business community were treated to a series of jokes and anecdotes from guest speaker, comedian Tom O'Connor.
Master of ceremonies BBC South presenter Sally Taylor delivered a look back at the city's business year before revealing winners, runners-up and highly commended in each category.
A record 135 entries were received from businesses across our communities.
See next page for the full list of winners.
