A GROUP of naturists has scooped a top award for its services to nudism.
Eastney Naturists has been heralded as a shining example to other groups based near beaches across the country.
It was given the award in recognition of its campaigning to keep open the nudist beach at Eastney, Portsmouth.
Mike Houlsby and Barry Knell of the group were presented with the prize by Ron Twining, the chairman of the southern branch of British Naturism.
Mr Houlsby said: 'This is a proud day for us. It's always good to have someone recognise that you're doing a good job, but especially so when it's your national organisation. We are really thrilled to win this.
'We've found many non-naturist organisations very supportive.'
