Pompey are edging closer to a deal for Amr Zaki.
According to sources in Egypt, a deal could be tied up for the 26-year-old this week.

Both Pompey and El Zamalek are said to be edging closer to common ground over the fee to take the former Wigan man on loan for a year.

Pompey are willing to stump up around £1m for Zaki – having originally wanted to pay £500,000 – with Zamalek understood to be holding out for £1.25m.

The Blues desperately need striker reinforcements after selling Peter Crouch to Spurs last week in a £9m deal.

Some good news to start the day!

Let's hope this comes to fruition, as I think despite his tendency to truancy he will be a good catch.

Zaki has the ability no doubt about it? but also has a rather large chip on his shoulder, just hope we can bring out his early form. Steve Bruce didn't take any of his sh*t and if Hart is how he proved with the way he dealt with Gekas very similar i am not to sure we will get the best from him? could be another war of ego's on the horizon and we could end up with are best chance of goals warming the bench! not moaning just saying how i feel, hope i am wrong and this is finally the start of some QUALITY players coming in. Charles

This is a repeat of the email which apparently was sent by PS to a contributor to these columns. It was seen by almost everybody as fake, and I think The Sun have seen this and are scaremongering as always.

It for sure in my opinion belongs in The Sun and nowhere else.

Maybe the official site will deny it today. Time will tell.

I will believe it when it happens!
How many more false dawns?
While Pompey fiddle, someone else nips in and does the signing!
We need less talk and a bit more action!

I've just read an article in one of the tabloids purporting to be quotes from Peter Storrie, in essence it's similar to the E MAIL posted and doing the rounds yesterday. If it's genuine, we are in trouble, as doubts were being cast on the liklehood of the takeover happening, there has been no financial support for 9 months, hence the player sales, more player sales likely, etc etc. Most interestingly, Gaydamak will not receive money, if the deal goes ahead, all Al FAHIM has to do is guarantee the debt of £28m, and Peter STORRIE expressed his doubts about that happening (if the source of the article actually is him)

Charles Lewington Wilko that story has come straight from fansonline where someone claims to have recieved an email from Storrie but there is nothing to prove it has come from him.

That is very poor from the sun and hust proves they read the pompey messageboards.

The sun have lifted that Story straight from the email that was meant to be from PS to another forum. Even as a doom and gloomer it doesn't really say naff all. PUP
