Harry Redknapp has left Pompey to become the new manager of Spurs.
The man who led the Blues to FA Cup glory in May could not turn down the chance to take over the Londoners, who sacked Juande Ramos late on Saturday night after their worst-ever start to a season.

Redknapp has confirmed he will be at Spurs' home game against Bolton this afternoon rather than Fratton Park for Pompey's clash with Fulham.

He said: 'I haven't picked the team but I will meet the players in the morning and address them before the game and at half-time.

'Hopefully we can get a result. The squad has good ability but maybe a little bit of a soft centre. We need a little bit more strength and aggression if we are going to survive.

'We've got to get cracking and turn it around as quick as we can.'

Redknapp turned down the chance to join Newcastle earlier this year. But the temptation to take over a club the size of Spurs proved too much this time.

Spurs moved quickly to bring him to White Hart Lane, and Pompey reluctantly agreed to let him talk to Spurs chief Daniel Levy.

The Blues are set to receive around £5m in compensation.

Tony Adams and Joe Jordan will take charge of Pompey for today's clash with Fulham.

Not good PFC must be in right mess if they have to sell redknapp for 5 million, to me that is a rip off.

Its the ground, stupid! We´ve got the team, the players, the fans and the heart! It´s just the ground we need, and a city council to back us. That´s always been out problem.

Well thanks Harry for what you've done for us in the past but . . . . Pompey till you die ??
Maybe we'll be better off with a more honest manager.
Your selections recently have been a bit dodgy. Now we know your mind has been elsewhere.
How long have secret trips up to London been going on ?

Also, only 5 mill ?? Utaka and Nugent worth more than you ?
Talk about selling cheap.
End of an era, start of a new one.
whats Big Sam up to nowadays ???

I've never hated anyone as much as i hate redknapp now. I made eye contact with him on a uni building when we won the FA cup and in his eyes was sheer joy. I cheered on Sunderland today because newcastle tried to steal 'arry a while back. I now hate redknapp. He will save spurs but at what price? He would of been a legend at pompey. He might aswell of gone back to southampton. It's sickening. We may only have 19,000 every week in our stadium but it's because people like redknapp. Glory hunters. Portsmouth till i die.

Ouch!!! A friend of mine was last night saying that rumours are that Redknapp may quit for Spurs and I laughed in the face of my buddy because I really did think Redknapp was here for the forseeable future.

From Redknapps point of view he will feel he has well exceeded his expectations at Pompey and he probably feels he's getting out at the right time because when Pompey take a little slump now he can make the world feel it was because he left.

Lets start to think quickly about a BLOODY strong replacment. Come on Gaydamak and Storrie, the next big decision that you make is without a doubt for me going to make or break Pompey for the next couple of seasons.

Please, please, please Campbell, Silvan, Diarra, defoe, Crouch and the rest of the boys just hold it together and dont let us fans down by beginning an exit policy out because of Harry moving on.

Its going to hurt but whats the odds of Redknapp making quick bids for half our team in January??? This is why we need a BLOODY strong new manager with the appeal to the players to stay!

Play Up Pompey through these coming tough times!

Any suggestions from anyone on the new boss???????????????

Today's Vote

Can Nadir Ciftci go on to really establish himself at Pompey?
Absolutely, he's a star of the future
Maybe, but he's got a long way to go
He needs a loan spell away, then we'll see how good he is
No chance, he'll fade away
