The Hawks go into their Blue Square South encounter against Bath City at West Leigh Park tomorrow looking to record a fourth-consecutive league victory as their recovery gathers pace 3pm).
Three wins in the last 10 days – two away from home – have seen Shaun Gale's men start to turn their fortunes around and climb the league table.

Their latest win – 2-0 at Newport County in midweek – saw them rise to ninth and another win could see them close in on the top six.

'We must look to capitalise on our midweek success, and being at home, we must go into the game expecting to win,' said Gale.

'It is all about putting a run of wins together and we are starting to do that.

'Bath won't be easy, though, because they are a reasonable side, despite making an indifferent start.

'We beat them 1-0 in my first game in charge last season and then drew 1-1 at their place in a game we should have won.

'Our progress is pleasing at the moment, but we won't let ourselves get carried away.

'It is early days and we are still far from the finished article.
'I think there is still a lot more to come from my squad.

'The main difference between now and the first weeks of the season is that now we are taking our chances.'

Veteran central defender Guy Butters and defender Jay Smith are still ruled out by injury and Gale is still awaiting news on young striker Sam Gargan's x-rays.

Gargan was forced off by a heavy challenge at Newport and it was feared he may have dislocated his shoulder.

Rocky Baptiste has been ill and, according to Gale, is unlikely to re-appear this weekend.

The Hawks showed a terrific defensive res-ilience in Wales in midweek to comfortably keep their hosts at bay in awful conditions and earn a first clean sheet of the season.

'We defended magnificently,' said Gale.

'It has taken time to settle down but I certainly can't fault the effort of my players.'

One player heading the compliments list is little Charlie Henry, who has rapidly earned himself the title of super-sub after going on and scoring spectacular goals in each of the last three games.

Henry must be pushing for a place in the starting line-up after his contribution over the last 10 days.

'Charlie is unlucky not to be in the side at the moment,' said Gale.

'He is a fantastic little footballer and his finishing is quality at the moment.

'We are starting to see the real Charlie Henry and he is proving a real threat to the opposition defences.'

We Can Do It

Today's Vote

Is Tony Adams right to make changes to the Pompey side who beat Blackburn?
Adams should stick to the side that earned him his first win at Fratton Park
He should only change things around if there are injuries
If Campbell and Kranjcar are fit they should start
Davis deserves a starting role after his heroics against Blackburn
With a heavy fixture schedule coming up, changes are needed
