Pompey are the FA Cup champions.
Harry Redknapp guided his team to a 1-0 victory at Wembley against Cardiff to ensure his and his players' names will go down in Pompey folklore.

Kanu got the goal that will make this side immortals on a day of emotion and high drama.

The Nigerian struck after 37 minutes to bring the biggest domestic knockout trophy back to Fratton Park for the first time in 69 years.

It is a day no one with blue in their blood will ever forget.

The match was played out at a frenetic pace for long periods, particularly a massively entertaining opening 45 minutes.

The Welsh side had a goal rightly disallowed right on half-time.

Cardiff pushed after the break but never looked like levelling the match.

The final whistle sparked jubilant scenes which will live long in the memory.

Then Sol Campbell stepped up lift the famous, old trophy to an explosion of noise which lifted the roof off Wembley.

And to top it off Pompey will now be playing European football in the UEFA Cup next season for the first time in the club's history.

Well done lads, you've done us proud. You will forever be in Pompey hearts and minds.

To all who were criticising the team recently: have the team now not made you all look like silly people who don't know a thing about football? They are champions!

Roll on Europe, PUP!!!

Just back from Wembley, what an incredible day and result. FA Cup Winners, qualified for Europe, the Charity Shield to come....does it get much better. Well done to Harry and the team who did us proud today, you just have to see the streets of Portsmouth tonight to see what it means. Roll on a few good transfers and it's onwards and upwards. Fans were also magnificent today, Play up Portsmouth.

The ones who should and probably are looking silly are the ones who were critisizing Kanu saying he was no good and we should get rid of him especially after that Australia joke story.
Well done Pompey and Well done Kanu,Harry you are the best thanks for coming back and doing wonders.

Well done, lads! The Cock-n-Bull Pub/Grille in Columbia South Carolina opened their doors at 10:00 AM and brought us the pay-per-view and 12 or 13 fans were there -- I was the only one wearing Pompey Blue. I cheered loud and proud throughout the first half. Our state high school championships started during the second half -- and I am public address announcer -- so I had to leave the pub. I announced the score at Stone Stadium throughout the finals and proudly sent out "Play Up Pompey, Europe Bound" when the FA Cup was secured! A fantastic finish to a fine campaign!
