Gosport's Natalie Porter warmed up for a shot at world glory in perfect style as a personal best score secured her gold in the southern region aerobic gymnastics championships.
The 17-year-old is jetting out to the United States for the FIG World Series in just over a week's time and will be full of confidence after also taking a trophy for the highest overall score.
The youngster has been frantically travelling up and down the country to get her individual and trio routines ready for the championships in Los Angeles.
Uniquely, the SUKI Aerobics starlet has teamed up with two members of Weston-Super-Mare Gymnastics Club to compete in the trios and travels, north every weekend to prepare with her team-mates – a decision that was far from easy.
'It was a tough decision because she had to give up acrobatics and tumbling, which was her second field,' explained mother Debbie.
'But her acrobatics and tumbling is maybe at national level, where her aerobic gymnastics is at international level, so there was no competition really.
'Phoenix Acro, where she did her acrobatics and tumbling, gave Natalie their blessing to leave and they still monitor how she's getting on.'
After finishing a respectable 10th place at the World Championships in Japan last April, the youngster will fly out to LA with high hopes.
Mum Debbie said: 'There are definitely high expectations both from her as an individual and from her club, especially for the trio.
'She works really hard and wants to do well.
'They're aiming to qualify for the European Championships and want to finish at least in the top five in the world. They aim high.
'I have a gut feeling they're going to do really well.'
Natalie is currently ranked in the top 10 aerobic gymnasts for her age range and stormed past many of her GB teammates with her personal best to take the gold in Southampton two weeks ago.
As well as a train journey to Weston-Super-Mare every week, Natalie also travels to GB training in various locations all over the UK.
The Fareham College student has been doing gymnastics since the age of eight and has been all over the world representing Great Britain for the last four years.
The ANAC FIG World Series runs from July 21-24.
